THE ART OF INTRODUCING YOURSELF

In an event hosted by the Center for Career Development and the Macklin Center for Leadership and Communication, students learned how to pitch themselves to a recruiter. Students practiced their professional pitch skills to mock recruiters from all four of USG’s industry hubs. Priddy Library participated as a mock recruiter and a representative of the Public Service, Education, and Social Science Hub.

BUILDING A CARING COMMUNITY THROUGH ART

Priddy Library partnered with Yuri Stone and Ariana Kaye, two curators from Glenstone Museum, on an art exhibit titled Building a Caring Community Through Art. The exhibition solicited submissions of recent artwork reflecting on the challenges facing our community and the cultivation of support, care, and healing among one another. A reception was held in April 2024 and the exhibition remained on display until May.

TOWSON UNIVERSITY FAMILY READING NIGHTS

In collaboration with Towson University’s Early Childhood Education Student's Club, Priddy Library hosted two extraordinary events. The third annual Family Reading Night took place in fall 2023. In April 2024 to commemorate the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Week of the Young Child, another reading night took place celebrating early learning, young children, teachers, and families. Many children’s books were selected from Priddy Library’s diverse and multicultural children’s section and put on display in the Library’s Garden Lounge. Tables were also set up with crafts and other activities for children.  There were members of the community who attended with their young children, as well as Towson faculty and other students. The children really enjoyed selecting books, and being read to by future teachers!
