Priddy Library
In FY 2021, the effects of COVID-19 continued to impact library services. We remained committed to providing services and resources to the USG community, while also adhering to safety guidelines and procedures. Though we could not open our physical facility, the library was fully operational. We worked hard, moving the library forward, improving the accessibility of our collection by adding a curbside pick-up service, course reserves scanning service, and removing the barrier of overdue fines.
From their homes, librarians and staff responded to research questions and provided instructional assistance. Librarians created video presentations and tutorials for students and faculty. A small team of staff continued to work in the library to pull, scan, and deliver physical materials. Student assistants and staff continued to provide virtual study space for USG students to collaborate and study together. Throughout this difficult year, our library staff demonstrated great creativity and flexibility in managing through very unsettling times.
In the coming academic year, we will continue strengthening the way we engage with our users, both virtually and in our physical spaces.
