INTERNATIONAL GAMES DAY

For the 3rd and 4th consecutive years, the library collaborated with the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) department of Communications, the University of Baltimore (UB) department of Simulation and Game Design, and the UB Library to celebrate the American Library Association’s International Games Day.  In 2017 Mandi Parker, a game designer at the internationally-acclaimed Bethesda Game Studios, led a talk on System Design, and Whit Parker, executive story editor for the Daredevil TV series delivered an online lecture via webchat.  In 2018, Simulation & Game Design brought six game developers on campus for a Panel of Experts Q&A session.  In both years, Simulation & Game Design students brought their projects to provide playable beta-testing demos, the UB Library brought a collection of video games spanning the last 20 years, and the Priddy Library’s collection of board games was made available for recreational use.
